The Cascada BIO-water System is fed with partially purified water. It produces extremely high ultrapure water for life science applications, suitable for all molecular, pharmaceutical, and microbiological applications.

The product water conforms to ASTM (D1193-99) Type IC Reagent Water specification.

A Cascada BIO-water System was fed with water from a Cascada RO-water System with a conductivity of 42 µS/cm and a TOC of 50 ppb C. The unit was operated intermittently and product water dispensed to simulate typical use patterns.

Resistivity and TOC were logged online using an Anatel A100P. Samples were taken for bacterial analysis. Total viable counts were measured after membrane filtration and incubation at 27 °C for 5 days on R2A agar.

Samples were analyzed for chloride using a Dionex DX500 ion chromatograph with AS12 column and for sodium and silica by ICP-MS.
