The Centrisep EAPS (also known as Centrisep air cleaner) shields the engine against these airborne contaminants which results in
- Safer operation (Protection against F.O.D, Ice, Snow, Rain)
- Increased operational availability & reduced downtime
- Significant increase in engine erosion life (up to 20-30 times)
Proven protection under hostile conditions
Centrisep EAPS can withstand the harshest conditions and a number of models are fully certified for all-weather operation. The equipment is certified for operation in case of inadvertent entry into icing conditions and therefore is allowed to operate without the need for complex by-pass door and differential pressure monitoring systems.
More than 50 different Centrisep EAPS designs
are available
Centrisep EAPS are custom engineered for specific helicopter models. More than fifty different designs have been certified.

Innovative technology for engine air filtration
Contaminated air enters the Centrisep EAPS, which contains numerous vortex generator tubes with diameters of approximately 3/4 inch. The vortex generators induce a swirling motion that causes the particles and water droplets to be thrown, by centrifugal force, outwards towards the walls of the vortex generators.
The contaminants are then scavenged overboard with a small portion of the inlet air, while clean air flows through the center of the vortex generator tubes into the engine.

Scavenge Systems
The particulates and water, which are separated by the vortex generator tubes, are removed from the Centrisep EAPS by an additional scavenge airflow. This scavenge airflow is induced by either ejectors or fans. For the Centrisep EAPS to operate efficiently, the scavenge system must be on. We recommend activating the scavenge system at take off.
