HS Series Filter Sheets
Product Information Depth Filter Sheets of the HS-Series
The HS series of Pall SeitzSchenk comprises 10 filter sheets with different retention rates. The designation "HS" stands for high stability; it characterises filter sheets with a very pronounced rigidity which are suitable for use at high temperatures as well as low temperatures. The figure in the designation depicts the degree of clarification of the filter sheet and thus also its application possibility whereby a small figure is synonymous with a high degree of clarification. Grades HS 200 and HS 400 are used for sterilising filtration duties, whereas HS 600 and HS 800 are classified as micro-organism-reducing depth filters. They can produce a sterile filtrate at low organism counts in the unfiltered product. The grades HS 1000 through to HS 9000 cover the entire range from fine filtration via clarifying filtration to coarse filtration. The main components for the manufacture of filter sheets of the HS-series are cellulose, kieselguhr and perlite. A high specific output combined with a long service life ensure an economical operation, particularly in beer filtration. A very high permanent wet strength provides excellent behaviour during unloading of the sheets after use.

Characterization
The tests are carried out according to the methods of the Technical/Analytical Work Group within the European Depth Filtration Association or in accordance with in-house test methods.
