Pall-Aquasafe™ 14-Day Shower Water Filter for All Microorganisms (EU)

Disposable Shower Head

Quick connection Instant protection

Background

The Pall-Aquasafe Disposable Shower Head Filter (AQF3) is CE marked as a medical device and has been specifically designed to remove water-borne microbial contamination from healthcare water supplies.  Several studies have reported hospital outbreaks of infections due to waterborne organisms such as Pseudomonas spp, Legionella spp and Aspergillus spp.2-5 In high risk areas immuno-suppressed patients are efficiently protected by Point of Use filtration. Disposable filters are increasingly used as a standard protection to reduce nosocomial infections and costs.

This sterilising grade filter contains a unique filtration cartridge, incorporating a novel Ultipleat membrane pack for maximum area and increased 14 day lifespan compared to previous models. The double layer 0.2 µm Supor sterilising grade membrane has enhanced temperature resistance. To minimise the risk of inadvertent retro-grade contamination, the filter housing contains an enhanced bacteriostatic additive.

The filter is capable of delivering high volume throughput over an extended period of time. This offers a cost effective and environmentally friendly way of providing optimal patient protection against waterborne microorganisms.9-11
