Pall Component Cleanliness Cabinets
  Pall Component Cleanliness Cabinets

Much more than a filter company, Pall Corporation solves complex contamination, separation, purification, and monitoring problems.  Pall’s Component Cleanliness Management (CCM) program provides products and services for accurate, reliable, and repeatable component and fluid cleanliness measurement.  The CCM program includes the supply of cleanliness cabinets, cleanliness evaluations, specification development, and customized training, all undertaken in cooperation with our customers to optimize in-plant processes.

Pall Component Cleanliness Cabinets (PCC) provide a self contained, controlled working environment for measurement of component cleanliness. The component checking area comprises a crevice free stainless steel enclosure. Component checking is achieved by using a pressure rinsing technique with fluid dispensed from a hand operated ‘pistol grip’ nozzle. The walls of the work area can be washed by the cabinet operator using the nozzle, ensuring that contaminants ‘splashed’ onto the wall during component checking are re-combined with the test fluid.

The fluid containing the debris ‘washed’ off the component being checked is collected at the bottom of the crevice free working area, and is then diverted by a vacuum pump, which draws the fluid carrying the contaminants through the an analysis membrane. The analysis membrane can then be used for gravimetric weight analysis or can be inspected under a microscope to provide information on the particle size distribution, particle numbers and particle types present.

A high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtered work area, with efficient fume extraction, ensures negligible background contamination levels from the surrounding atmosphere. Between samples the PCC can perform a cleaning cycle to ensure the entire wash area is free from solid residual contaminants by washing the cabinet walls and fluid collection areas with clean solvent, before further tests can commence.
