Pall AquaSep™ Coalescer
A multiple stage system, the Pall AquaSep coalescer first removes particulate matter, then coalesces and separates the water from a hydrocarbon stream. An AquaSep coalescer will remove entrained water to a level of 15 ppmv and below, over a wide range of conditions:
- Water concentration as high as 3% water by weight (i.e., 30,000 ppmv).
- Interfacial tension as low as 3.0 dynes/cm.
Pall's AquaSep liquid/liquid coalescer is compatible with refined products including:
- All gasolines
- Diesel
- Kerosene
- Lube oils
- Aromatics
- Petrochemicals
| FEATURES | FUNCTIONS | BENEFITS |
|---|---|---|
| High efficiency coalescing | Separates "freewater" from hydrocarbons (e.g., fuels); Up to 3% water (30,000 PPMV); Entrained water removed is removed to less than 15 PPMV. |
Fresh fuel; Reuse of cleaned fuel; Disposal of water component of waste stream. |
| Proprietary coalescing medium | Resists "disarming" by surfactants because of glass fibers; Will separate with interfacial tension as low as 3.0 dynes/cm. | Continued operations and performance effectiveness. |
| Stacked design | Uniformly distributed; Streamlines avoided; Deadspots avoided. |
High flow rate; Efficiency enhanced; Useful life extended; Small size. |
| Wide compatibility | Constructed of materials compatible with a wide range of petroleum products, e.g., all gasolines, including J.P-8+100, diesel fuel, kerosene, lube oils, aromatics, petrochemicals. | Many applications to industrial processes and waste stream minimization. |
