Fluorodyne® II Filter Series

The Fluorodyne® II Filter series feature a unique hydrophilic modified polyvinylidenfluoride (PVDF) membrane with low binding properties, broad chemical and temperature resistance and higher flow rates compared with other PVDF products. Below are the available removal ratings for the following applications: Bioburden Control: Grade DBL (0.45 micron) Sterilizing-Grade: Grade DFL (0.2 micron) Mycoplasma Control: Grade DJL (0.1 micron)

Fluorodyne® II Grade DBL Filters

The serial layer construction allows high throughput with high flow rates, compared with other PVDF filters. The filter is predominantly used in prefiltration applications or viscous fluid filtrations. The microbial validation with Serratia marcescens (ATCC14756) at typically 10⁶) allows use of this filter for bioburden control also.

Fluorodyne® II Grade DFL Filters

This validated sterilizing grade membrane (B. diminuta [ATCC 19146] at 10⁷/cm² EFA) demonstrates very low extractables and adsorption and is recommended for the sterilizing-grade filtration of pharmaceuticals including solutions with active ingredients, ophthalmics, other dilute preservative solutions or biological fluids.

Fluorodyne® II Grade DJL Filters

The serial layer construction of this grade assures highest flow rates compared with other 0.1 micron filters. The filter is validated with A. laidlawii [ATCC 28206] at typically 10⁸cm² EFA) and B. diminuta [ATCC 19146] at 10⁷/cm² EFA). This allows sterilizing-grade filtration for higher sterility assurance as well as efficient mycoplasma control at high flow rates, typically in the range of other 0.2 micron PVDF membranes.
