Viral Vaccines and Viral Vectors

Whole viruses, live, attenuated or killed, or capsids may be used as vaccines. Produced in animal cells, Pall products ensure culture sterility, and are used to recover, purify and in final filling of the vaccine. Viruses may also be used as vectors to deliver genetic materials to target cells.

Pall has significant experience in the purification of viruses, and vectors including adeno- and adeno-associated viruses, lentiviruses and others. Mustang® chromatography capsules are ideally suited for this purification process, as the virus particles are too large to diffuse into traditional chromatography media, whereas the direct interceptional capture by the Mustang membrane offers fast, efficient capture and elution.
