Recognizing the increasing demands on blood centers and their need for flexibility, Pall Medical expands the options in platelet transfusion therapy with Pall Acrodose^TM Systems. These systems allow blood centers to maximize the value of whole blood collections. Pre-storage pooling with Acrodose Systems allows blood collection facilities to produce a new generation platelet product - an Acrodose^SM Platelet - enabling them to satisfy platelet availability needs, provide opportunities for growth, and improve their bottom line.

Using a platform of complementary products, blood collection facilities are producing a therapeutic dose of whole blood derived platelets that are leukoreduced, ABO-matched, pooled, and bacteria tested with culture based detection methods.
