Filtration devices integrated into IV sets provide additional patient safety and give medical providers peace of mind knowing their IV lines will remain peace of mind. Pall filters address the following concerns, adding safety and value to IV sets:
  • Air Elimination. Pall's air eliminating (AEF) filters remove air from IV lines that occurs during priming and setup, reducing the risk of harmful and potentially fatal air emboli.
  • Particle Retention. In-line filters prevent manufacturing by-products such as glass fragments and pieces of plastic from reaching the patient. Pall IV filters also retain drug precipitates and lipid micelles that can cause irritation, phlebitis, and infection.
  • Bacterial/Fungal Retention. In-line filters provide a barrier against microorganisms introduced during the parenteral manufacturing process. Pall filters are also ideal for preventing contamination complications associated with long-term infusion therapy.
  • Endotoxin Retention. Pall's filters with 0.2 µm positively-charged membranes attract and retain endotoxins associated with bacterial contaminants that can cause serious patient complications.

  • Hydrophobic vent evacuates entrained air, removing potentially harmful air contamination introduced during priming and set-up.
