Senior Network Engineer – Information Technology – Port Washington, New York

 

Pall is looking for a global Senior Network Engineer who is an experienced, passionate networking professional who can assist with a range of activities from global strategic planning to providing hands on operational expertise.  This individual needs to be a self-starter and have a proven experience in generating new ideas, learning and implementing emerging technology to solve business problems.  This position will play a critical role for identifying and implementing network and communication technologies, processes and standards that delight our customers, and reduce the cost to provide network and voice services.  Deep experience in networking and a proven track record in standardization, automation, monitoring, and operational excellence across networking and voice infrastructures is a must.  Finally, the Senior Network Engineer needs to be a natural leader and a change agent as we transform our workforce to focus on value generating initiatives instead of commodity level tasks.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop global WAN\LAN topology to support Pall’s business initiatives
  2. Provide all levels of support of LAN\WAN infrastructure
  3. Provide technical guidance to users and management for LAN\WAN systems
  4. Implement, configure, and support secure internet and VPN connectivity to support a global infrastructure
  5. Participate in various projects as required
  6. Develop and maintain appropriate WAN\LAN Disaster Recovery procedures
  7. Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service, efficiency and effectiveness
  8. Perform system analysis and utilization reports as required
  9. Implement and support Pall’s current VOIP solution and all locations as designated in the VOIP project plan
  10. Perform invoice review and coordinate with appropriate contacts to resolve any open issues
  11. Provide updates to Management regarding projects currently taking place
  12. Stay up-to-date with latest techniques and technology.
  13. Ensures compliance with all audit requirements including change control procedures and data security.
  14. Communication with various business areas and outside vendors, consultants, and clients regarding connectivity needs and issues
  15. Provide 24x7 support as appropriate.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or the equivalent combination of education and training. CCNA and/or CCN preferred. Knowledge of Siemens Hipath 8000 VOIP PBX a plus
  • Must demonstrate a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a Global WAN environment
  • Strong Cisco Routing & Switch experience
  • Excellent Layer 2 & 3 Networking Skills
  • Experience designing campus environments
  • Experience with Cisco Pix and ASA firewalls
  • Proven WAN experience in a multi-national, multi-location environment
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Configuration of WAN to support VOIP
  • Understanding of VOIP technology and implementation in a global setting
  • Proven customer service skills and understanding of user requirements
  • Experienced in PBX  implementations, configuration, and support
  • Skilled in large scale LAN\WAN deployments
  • Knowledge of general Audit procedures and practices
  • Strong Vendor management skills
  • Up to 30% travel
