There has been a steady growth in the application of autologous platelets in orthopedic and reconstructive surgery, attesting to its safety. That work paved the way for its use in the treatment of tendinosis in humans and horses. Pall's E-PET (Equine Platelet Enhancement Therapy) system uses a filter-based technology to provide equine veterinary surgeons with a quick and easy way of obtaining autologous platelet rich concentrate in the field or the clinic. The platelet-rich concentrate obtained from the E-PET system is used to aid healing in horses.  

 

We are now making the novel, filter-based system available for the preparation and point-of-care delivery of platelet therapy for dogs. The Pall C-PET (Canine Platelet Enhancement Therapy) system allows for platelets to be enriched from a peripheral blood sample, within 15 minutes from start-to-stopin a completely disposable closed system. This technique offers the promise of broad applicability for the treatment of joint diseases from ligament and tendon damage to osteoarthritis. It can be used anywhere the patient needs to be treated, in the office, the clinic, or at the patient’s home.
