At each seminar, one or more keynote talks will be given by invited opinion leaders on subjects of high relevance to the biotechnology sector in the local region. Workshops will feature live demonstrations where our technical experts will explain key principles and guide you through the process of selecting the ideal solution to fit your requirements in the laboratory. Consideration will also be given to scaling-up of technologies.
Subjects and speakers vary from venue to venue – please see the ‘Locations’ section below for further details
Workshop A: ‘Sterile Filtration - Finding The Perfect Fit’
Discuss the challenges and demonstrate solutions for microbial control of cell culture or fermentation product during laboratory experiments, ranging from sterile to mycoplasma filtration.
Workshop B: ‘Bioreactors - Shaking Up Early-Stage Process Development’
This workshop will demonstrate a high-throughput screening technology for small-scale fermentation and cell culture experiments. Furthermore, ‘BLItz’ technology will demonstrate label-free protein analysis for drug discovery and bioprocess monitoring.
Presentation: ‘High Throughput Screening Process Development Platform - A Powerful Approach to Accelerating Process Development and Purification’
Presentation: ‘Sorbent Capability Overview’
Workshop C: ‘Chromatography - Simplifying Complex Separations’
This workshop provides an overview of solutions to simplify purification of products using a wide range of chromatography columns (prepacked or non-prepacked) and membrane chromatography technologies in your laboratory and demonstrate the actual use of such a tool with a real-life example. It will also feature and discuss the tools available to scale up from laboratory scale to larger volume processes.
Workshop D: ‘Ultrafiltration - Quick and Efficient Separation of Biomolecules’
This workshop offers an overview of the principles of tangential flow filtration and compares two ultrafiltration techniques. It will feature a small-scale separation demonstration using centrifugal devices, followed by a demo with a tangential flow filtration system. Both these ultrafiltration methods enable the purification of biomolecules in an economic and efficient way.
