Upstream Filtration and Separation – Oil & Gas

Filtration and separation solutions for completion fluids, injection water, produced/frac flow-back water, and condensate stabilization.

Industry Leading in Upstream Oil & Gas Filtration Solutions

Complete wells faster, increase oil recovery rate and volume with high-quality injection water, efficiently dispose of produced water, and ensure continued production of stabilized or fractionated liquids.

Timely well completion is critical to getting to first oil and well profitability.  High-efficiency filtration of completion fluids will ensure faster completion and earlier production.  Look to our wide range of filters for faster well cleanup and production readiness.

When moving to use of injection water for improved oil recovery (IOR) operations, it is critical to protect the formation from particulate fouling that otherwise leads to loss of injectivity and rising injection pressures leading to the need for expensive well workovers and production loss from injection downtime.  Let us help you select the right filtration to protect your injection operations from maximizing production rate, minimizing workover costs, and optimizing original oil recovery in place.

Before transportation or disposal, produced well fluids such as upstream condensate and produced water must undergo filtration processes. Whether preparing onshore produced water for disposal or utilizing the stabilization or fractionation processes with natural gas condensate, filtration solutions must be reliable and efficient. Ineffective filtration of produced water can lead to regulatory non-compliance. In contrast, improper filtration of natural gas condensate can have several adverse effects, including lengthy and costly maintenance downtime and major process disruptions. Our advanced filtration solutions deliver premium performance with unmatched effectiveness and reliability to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize maintenance downtime and improve business performance.

RELIABILITY SOLUTIONS FOR OFFSHORE PLATFORMS

Offshore platforms used for drilling or production are tightly run facilities with little margin for error. Equipment reliability is of paramount importance in keeping the operation on schedule. When equipment goes down, the ramifications are far more significant than with its onshore counterparts. The equipment maintenance or the replacement of damaged parts is very costly and can involve substantial delays in getting the parts out to remote locations. With decades of Offshore industry and application experience, Pall Corporation provides various filtration and separation products and services specifically designed to solve reliability issues for topside and subsea applications.

CONDENSATE STABILIZATION / FRACTIONATION

Ensure your stabilization reliably meets your daily production quotas and environmental protection needs.

Natural gas condensate stabilization processes reduce the vapor pressure of the liquid hydrocarbon condensate to a value ensuring safety during transportation and storage and perform an essential separation of lighter from heavier ends. The natural gas condensate is either stabilized to remove C1-C4 hydrocarbons or is fractionated in stages sequentially, removing one or more ethane (C2), propane (C3), and butane (C4). In either case, the effectiveness of the separation depends on the cleanliness of the columns used.  Solids and brine from the producing field lead to fouling and corrosion of the columns that reduce heat exchange efficiency, leading to poor outlet quality and/or the need to minimize throughputs to maintain quality.

Our filters and liquid/liquid coalescers effectively remove the corrosive brines and high solids, keeping the columns running reliably to maximize production of on-spec stabilized or fractionated products.

Clean Oil & Gas

Advanced filtration solutions for upstream oil and gas applications deliver enhanced filtration performance that improves operation efficiency, minimizes maintenance downtime, and improves business performance.

Our technologically advanced filtration solutions deliver premium filtration performance for upstream applications for oil and gas. Produced water is often slated for disposal, but must meet cleanliness criteria before discarding to satisfy regulations. Effective and reliable filtration of produced fluids ensures that disposal operations can continue. For natural gas condensate, the presence of water and solid contaminants present substantial risks to downstream pipelines and equipment. Efficient removal of these contaminants is essential to preventing erosion and corrosion of capital equipment and minimizing costly operational shutdowns for maintenance activities.

As the global leader in innovative filtration technologies, we have developed effective and reliable filtration solutions for upstream oil and gas applications that enhance contaminant removal, enable compliance with fluid cleanliness regulations, extend the life of capital equipment, and minimize maintenance downtime for dramatically improved business performance.

The production of natural gas condensate and produced water in the upstream oil and gas business presents filtration challenges that must be addressed to maintain efficient and reliable operations. Failure to effectively filter contaminants such as solid particulates can have costly negative consequences such as extensive operational downtime, repair or replacement of capital equipment, or regulatory issues for improper filtration of produced water used for disposal.

Process reliability has been a critical performance factor for many years, and for a good reason. The business impacts of process downtime can be astronomical as equipment repairs often take longer than expected and lost production totals continue to rise.  Utilizing high-performance filtration solutions is a proven method to minimize operational downtime by preventing the corrosive and erosive solid and liquid contaminants from entering sensitive downstream equipment. Furthermore, the increased purity of feed streams improves the efficiency of oil refining processes, which adds to the benefits that effective and reliable filtration provides.

Environmental regulations continue to tighten, especially in terms of the cleanliness of the water. The cost for non-compliance in this space can be extensive, from government fines and the possibility of legal action.  High-performance filtration of produced fluid ensures that cleanliness criteria are met and exceeded to alleviate these costly risks.

Our filtration solutions for upstream oil and gas applications deliver optimized filtration performance with unmatched effectiveness and reliability to reduce operating costs and improve business performance. Rising To The Challenge

The production of natural gas condensate and produced water in the upstream oil and gas business presents filtration challenges that must be addressed to maintain efficient and reliable operations.

Completion Fluids Filter

In oil and gas production, filtration of competition fluids is required to prevent damage to the formation and its permeability. As they recirculate to flush the newly drilled well, the fluids must be properly treated to eliminate residual solids and particulates from drilling operations that might obstruct the natural permeability (open space) within the rock formation and impede the hydrocarbon liquid flow during production.
