Midstream Glycol Filtration

Premium Glycol Dehydration Solutions That Provide Powerful Protection and Consistent Performance

Foaming can increase glycol loss

The water vapor exits the top of the regenerator to atmosphere

Natural Gas Plants often utilize glycol solvents to remove water from wet gas in order to meet pipeline quality inspections, or condition gas for condensate liquid removal. Glycol dehydration processes feed wet gas into the glycol contractor where it meets with lean glycol. The lean glycol absorbs the water to form rich glycol, and then flows to a regenerator where heat separates the glycol and the water, regenerating the glycol for re-use. The water vapor exits the top of the regenerator to atmosphere while the lean glycol is recirculated back to the contactor in a recirculating loop.

Hydrocarbon liquids and particulate ingression are primary causes of glycol foaming. Foaming can increase glycol loss and lower production capacity. Glycol that gets carried over into dry gas can result in the fouling of downstream equipment and potential problems with pipeline quality inspections and on-spec gas quality.

Liquid/Gas Coalescers

Pall Corporation’s staff of experienced research scientists and engineers have designed inlet and outlet coalescers that change the way gas streams are filtered. These products provide bulk separation via two stage separation.  The first stage knockout sump removes liquid slugs.  The second provides media coalescence providing 99.999% aerosol liquids removal at 0.3 microns per the DOP test and 1 ppb downstream per the modified ANSI/CAGI-400-1999 test procedure.

Contactor inlet coalescer:

The SepraSol Plus liquid/gas coalescer and the Medallion HP liquid/gas coalescer both provide efficient removal of  liquid hydrocarbons and solids upstream of the loop. This high capacity systems is able to deliver dehydrator productivity, reliability and on-spec water content via maintained glycol loop efficiency.

Contactor outlet coalescer:

The SepraSol Plus liquid/gas coalescer and Medallion HP liquid/gas coalescer deliver effective glycol recovery and reuse in systems exhibiting high mechanical losses. This system ensures downstream process reliability by eliminating glycol carryover.

Glycol Filters

Pall absolute and nominal rated filter elements reduce suspended solids to <5 ppmw, maintain glycol color clarity, and reduce related foaming and fouling issues.

Premium filtration solutions include Ultipleat® High Flow filters, Profile® Coreless filters, MarksmanTM filters, Profile II filters, Nexis® filters, or a range of Pall FSI bag filters.

These solutions combine high filtration efficiency, reproducible performance, easy changeout, and long filter life for cost effective control of foaming and fouling.  Natural gas plants with see an increase in productivity, reliability and on-spec water content via maintained glycol loop efficiency.

Pall Midstream Glycol Filtration solutions eliminate problems before they occur and improve performance through innovative design and high performance media.

Pall's extended filter life and simple maintenance protocols deliver unsurpassed reliability and consistent output from gas plant glycol dehydration. For more information, click here to see purchase information or talk to a Pall expert.
