Improved Engine Protection
A certified upgrade is now available which provides a dramatic increase in dust separation efficiency compared to the original Centrisep EAPS unit designed many years ago. The new, improved EAPS significantly reduces the problem of fine dust accumulation in the inner shaft. Extensive flight trials in desert conditions during the Paris-Dakar rally demonstrated a dramatic reduction in engine erosion.
| The performance enhancements were achieved without any detrimental effect in terms of weight or power penalty compared to the previous equipment. In-service experience has demonstrated the superior performance of the Centrisep EAPS over other filtration devices that demand regular maintenance and cleaning. |
On the AS350, the unit consists of a flat panel fitted to the engine cowl which rests on the engine inlet duct when the cowl is shut.

Certified for operation in case of inadvertent entry into icing conditions and is allowed to operate without a by-pass door and differential pressure monitoring systems.
Maintenance
The Centrisep EAPS is a “fit-and-forget system”; there are no inlet barrier filters to replace or clean. As with all aircraft equipment, routine visual inspection is recommended.
In case of damage, please refer to the Component Maintenance Manual, available through Pall Aerospace.

|
The Pall Centrisep EAPS solution is an environmentally friendly alternative to oil-wetted barrier filters. There is no filter replacement and no daily cleaning as with oil-based solutions that are difficult and costly to dispose of. |

QB0277 |
First Centrisep EAPS introduced, replacing earlier versions developed by Eurocopter. |
| 1987 |
QB0390 |
This design standard had a significantly improved sand and dust separation efficiency. |
| 1994 |
QB0550-01 |
This design standard had a reduced P2 bleed air value for same separation efficiency. It was certified for the B3 and EC130. |
| 2005 |
QB0777 |
This latest upgrade has an even higher sand and dust separation efficiency while using lower P2 bleed air. It was developed and certified, in cooperation with Turbomeca's Flight Test and Optional Centre, CGTM. |
|
The QB0777 upgrade is now in service with several operators and has a proven record of continuous good performance in the harshest environments.
