What do you wish people knew about working at Pall?
The people. Mostly everyone I have encountered is collaborative and supportive. Everyone is extremely passionate about their work and eager to help each other be successful. I also love the fact that Pall and Danaher value Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Bringing your “true authentic self to work” was hard for me to do early on in my career, but since joining Danaher being myself at work has been easier because they recognize the importance of diversity in the workplace and are committed to creating a safe inclusive environment for everyone.
What does the 2023 International Women’s Day slogan, #EmbraceEquity? mean to you and your work life?
This slogan makes me hopeful. I truly believe significant progress has been made, but there is still much more progress that is needed. For me, it is a reminder to continue striving for excellence while being aware of the many challenges that come with being a woman in a male-dominated industry. I am committed to pushing forward and supporting true gender equality.
What’s been the most rewarding project you have worked on?
I have worked on many projects over 13 years in my career in marketing, and I’ve definitely learned something from each one. But, if I had to pick one it would have to be creating and executing a product launch campaign. I oversaw the entire campaign which included developing the customer persona, creating the messaging and visuals, crafting the copy, and managing the budget. The goal of the campaign was to increase brand awareness and attract new customers. We were able to run the campaign successfully and the results were amazing. We saw a significant increase in website traffic, social media followers and ultimately, exceeding sales goals. The impact that campaign had on the company was incredibly rewarding, but the biggest impact I felt was working closely with team members and developing stronger relationships with them. We left that project feeling proud and with even more trust for one another.
Based on your own experience, what advice would you give to women considering pursuing a career in your field?
Go for it! Marketing has been a very rewarding career for me and I’m very happy I chose this career path. I would say just remember your uniqueness is valuable. Your opinions, thoughts and ideas are valid. Use your voice and speak up in meetings and be sure to express your ideas.
