Color Removal for Food and Ingredients

To achieve small color and odor corrections in food fluids caused by chemical reactions or native constituents, Pall offers filter sheets and lenticular modules impregnated with activated carbon, and enhanced by protective paper to ensure no carbon migration downstream.

These filters have an extremely high adsorptive capacity with up to 60 percent activated carbon in the filter sheet matrix. The activated carbon is integrated within the filter matrix without the use of binding agents to maintain adsorptive capacity. When contrasted against traditional methods of adding powdered activated carbon, which subsequently must be removed by filtration downstream, these carbon-impregnated products provide a simple and hygienic alternative.
