Why is Water Removal From Oil Based Flavors Important?

Oil-based flavors are often derived from plant components that are rich in essential oils. A typical example is citrus flavor. Citrus aroma is obtained from the peel of the fruit in the production of oranges and lemon juice. The citrus oil contains water components which are primarily separated from one another by separators or coalescers. Very often traces of water remain in the citrus oils after this removal step and are visible by a phase separation on top of the liquid.

 

Efficient, time-saving solutions for water removal

 

Seitz® ZD depth filter media is the key solution for efficient water removal from essential oils.100% pure cellulose matrix of the sheet media adsorbs the water traces in the cellulose fibers, while the essential oil passes the filter media during filtration. Any fine particles and haze left is also removed during this process.

SUPRApak™ ZD Series Depth Filter Modules

 

Developed to meet the needs of the Food and Beverage industry for filter sheet media, the SUPRApak ZD Series combines 100% cellulose depth filter sheet matrix and our SUPRApak design with the unique “edgeflow” principle.  Our edge flow technologhy optimizes the depth filter matrix, allowing for a very high filtration area per module. The multiple pass of the liquid through the sheet media extends the contact time of the water with the cellulose fibers and thus enables an optimized water separation effect.

 
 

SUPRAdisc™ II ZD Lenticulars

 

A unique combination of our SUPRAdisc II design for lenticular sheet-based modules and a pure cellulose depth filter sheet media, this filter has been designed to give excellent filtration performance and lower filtration costs. SUPRAdisc II ZD filter modules are available in multiple grades, and are also suitable for microbial reduction, fine filtration and clarifying filtration in various Food & Beverage applications.

 
 

Seitz ZD Sheets

 

Our Seitz ZD (Zero DE) depth filter sheets series consist of pure cellulose filter sheet media and has been designed to give excellent filtration performance respecting product quality to a high standard.  Seitz ZD filter sheets are available in multiple grades and are alsosuitable for microbial reduction as well as fine and clarifying filtration. Depth filter sheets made of 100% pure cellulose fibers allow to very effectively adsorb the water in the cellulose fibers and in parallel remove  particles that may be left behind.
